APU Gathers Under the Stars for Open Mic Night

“The fact that [these artists] are taking time out of [their] days to perform and are putting [themselves] in a risky position is admirable and should be celebrated whether or not [they] reach the standard of success,” said Connor Lott, a senior marketing major who performed at the event.


Triumphant anthems, lyrical tunes and experimental sounds resonate at Spring Showcase

“The purpose of the event is to encourage students to be creative and to be original and also if you are a musician, it gives you a platform to perfect your craft,” said Scott. “This is as real world as it gets. You have a time frame, you have a piece, you have to learn and you have an audience to perform in front of.”

Music department reminisce on an unforgettable, wistful and victorious spring semester

The students that have put their hearts and souls into music reminisce about the semester. Connor Lott, 19-year-old business administration and marketing major, said he was impressed by such talent.

“[I’m] truly impressed; such beautiful music each in their own way,” said Lott. “So much diversity in style, perspective, and timbre.”

This was Lott’s first time composing original music and he was grateful for all the help he had to notate and write for cello and violin, he said.
